  • [ ¥ 18,000 / day ] + tax

The original Kinoptik Tegea 9.8mm f/1.8 is said to be one of Stanley Kubrick’s favorite primes and also a go-to for Christopher Doyle on Wong Kar-wai films such as Fallen Angels.

This lens emerged from the same era as the Cooke Speed Panchro’s and closely matches the vintage aesthetic with lower contrast and warm strong flaring wide open, which is well-controlled by T2.8.

This super wide is only of the only lenses this wide which cover S35 and have a characteristic look with very low distortion.

Close focus is a remarkable 7” which is less than a 1/2 inch from the front element. The original iris has been replaced with a modern, robust, circular, 12 blade design. Focus and iris rings are now accessible, reliable, and super smooth with a 320 degree focus rotation.
