These vintage, full-frame lenses have flown under the radar for years, but now they’re being uncovered by Ancient Optics and getting beautifully rehoused by TLS.

Originally released in 1971 for Fujica SLR 35mm film cameras, these lenses show consistent character across the set—a trait usually found in cinema lenses, but less common in still photo lenses. Each lens offers strong center sharpness with gradual corner falloff. There’s a touch of spherical aberration, giving highlights a gentle glow and slight softness. Flares are colorful and bold, yet manageable. The bokeh is textured and appealing throughout the set.

Fujinon didn’t produce a focal length between 50mm and 100mm, so Ancient Optics and TLS collaborated to create a 70mm f2 using Fujinon glass and proprietary optics, rounding out the set.

These lenses also have a large image circle, making them a strong option for 65mm camera systems.
